Surf has been cracking in the Maharees. Pity about the lack of wind but glassy surf and sunny days more than make up for it. Lots of the usual Autumn faces around and nice to see them all back. Plenty of cold Guinness flowing. Food is fabulous as always at Spillane's.

How Time flies!! We're now enjoying a lovely September at Spillane's. The weather has been amazing with everyone eating outside and enjoying the wonderful sunsets.

Rik of Riks Windsurfing fame is around with his gang so we can thank them for once again bringing such lovely weather-here's hoping that the wind might blow for them next week.

We're gearing up for a busy weekend in celebration of WOWI's (women of windsrfing Ireland) 10th birthday. Come down and try out some windsurfing and don't miss the 'W' fancy dress in Spillane's Saturday night.

Everyone is feeling a little lonely this week after Yani, John and Naomi headed back to australia. Great to have our gorgous Spillane grandchild home.

We are switching to Autumn Opening hours as of this Monday. We will open weekdays at 6pm and Weekends at 1pm. Our great value 'Early Bird' menu is available until 7pm Weekdays.

11th July, Daire and Eds 21st-Live Band-The Vandals.

Continuing next week with Owens 30th and live music Saturday night.

Congratulations to Marilyn and Mike who celebrated 38 years married yesterday. Here's to 38 more!!

As Usual time is flying in The Maharees, Belated Happy Easter to all our customers who havn't made it down yet and looking forward to seeing you soon. Easter was fabulous and Spillane's was buzzing. Lovely weather meant people could sit out in the sunshine while enjoying their food. Early bird menu is proving very popular and steaks and seafood are smashing as ever.

Well done to Luke, Denise, Roo, Cara, Chloe, Kathleen, Finn, Ben, Dillon, and the Boyles for their help with The Spring Clean at Dumps on good Friday. Heaps of rubbish was collected. Hopefully we will organise another one soon and lots more people will come and help. -

Looking forward to the next Big Weekend-The May Bank Holiday-and the windsurfing event that runs all that week!

Spillane's is open for food again! Lovely new dishes on the menu. Also a great value early bird menu and bar menu.

Congratulations to the local kids who made their confirmation on Friday and had dinner in Spillanes that evening.

Lovely to see our customers back again and looking forward to a sunny summer and great year once again at Spillanes..

The local windsurfers are pretty happy with current weather conditions. Great day was had at Gowlane on Saturday with the boys ripping it up. Cold Fermoyle on Sunday and wet and windy Stradbally today looked like a whole lot of fun. Looking forward to a windsurf event in early May. We'll keep you posted.

A 40ft sperm whale was washed up at Garrywilliam this week. Pretty impressive (and sad) sight. Worth taking a look.

We're still trying to make Maharees beautiful by gathering rubbish. Rob Mar and Rose filled about 15 bags along the road after winter storms. We will try to gather regularly and any help would be much appreciated.

Christmas 2008

Wishing a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year to all our Customers.

Cold crisp clear days on the Maharees make a perfect christmas. Great for walking off the Turkey and chocolate! And for working up an appetite for dinner at Spillane's:).

Mike and Marilyn are celebrating Christmas 'Down Under' with a gang of Spillanes and their new granddaughter.

Congratulations to Dave and Annette on their marriage. Almost the entire Spillane family gathered in the Phillipines for a beautiful beach wedding. Fab holiday had by all.

November 2 2008

Congratulations to John and Naomi on the birth of their baby girl Yani. First Spillane grandchild! Wonder how old she'll be before she ends up at work in Spillane's. Generation number 6!!!

Winter has arrived once again in the Maharees. Absolutely beautiful crisp still day, empty beaches, lucky to live here:) And We are serving food right through November and December!

October bank holiday was great fun, big crowd for Dan's 30th and fantastic efforts on the fancy dress. Congratulations to spider Roo on best dressed.
